Apps available for iPhone, BlackBerry and Android smartphones
December 21, 2010 (Toronto, ON) – Polar Mobile (www.polarmobile.com) and the National Hockey League Players’ Association (NHLPA) are proud to announce today the formation of a multi-year partnership to develop a series of multi-faceted mobile Apps. The first set of NHLPA mobile Apps, launched today, across iPhone, BlackBerry and Android smartphones will allow fans to access unique player based content from the palm of their hands.

Under the partnership, the NHLPA has agreed to license to Polar exclusive NHLPA.com based content for mobile distribution. Polar will leverage the content to launch a series of mobile products, including, but not limited to, mobile Apps. All the products are designed with the goal of connecting fans with the players and making unique and interesting stories about the players more accessible.

The first App launching today will feature an integrated Twitter feed of all NHL players active on the social media site, allowing hockey enthusiasts to easily stay connected. Additionally, the App will include the latest Headlines, News and the Player of the Week, all content found on www.NHLPA.com. The Apps are all available from http://app.nhlpa.com or directly from the respective app stores for the iPhone, BlackBerry and Android.
