August 4, 2010 (Toronto, ON) – The first-ever Canadian Football League mobile app, called TELUS CFL Mobile, launches for all BlackBerry users tomorrow, providing fans with an exciting new way to stay on top of our league even when they’re on the go.

Driven by TELUS, the app and its core content including scores, schedules, stats and news headlines, is available to fans using any Canadian wireless provider.

Subscribers to TELUS, the official national wireless provider of the CFL, also have access to advanced features including:

- Live streaming of all CFL games including the playoffs and 98th Grey Cup

- On-demand video including extended game recaps, game previews, exclusive interviews and other video features

- Enhanced live stats updates during CFL games

The English language version of the TELUS CFL Mobile app is available for all BlackBerry devices starting tomorrow. Fans can download the app by visiting CFL.ca/telus. The app will be available on other leading smartphone devices later this month. A French language version of the app will be coming soon.

“The CFL strives to put our fans at the centre of everything we do, and this app provides fans with a great new way to be at the centre of CFL action and news even when they can’t be at the stadium, in front of a television or a computer screen,” said CFL Commissioner Mark Cohon.

“TELUS is committed to working with the CFL to offer new and innovative ways to experience the 2010 season across our mobile and Internet platforms,” said David Fuller, Chief Marketing Officer, TELUS Customer Solutions. “We are excited to deliver the TELUS CFL Mobile experience to all fans on leading smartphones, starting with the launch of the BlackBerry app.”

TELUS TV customers in British Columbia and Alberta can also use Video on Demand to experience full replays of CFL games.

The TELUS CFL Mobile app was built and powered by Polar Mobile Inc.

“We understand that CFL fans everywhere expect a highly engaging experience, regardless of what smartphone they use. We are excited that the CFL chose the Polar Platform to offer this experience to its fans,” says Kunal Gupta, Polar Mobile’s Chief Executive Officer.
