Job Function
Develop high-performance, scalable server applications to deliver content to smartphone devices using Python.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
- Create stunning mobile web applications for customers using the Polar Mobile platform
- Continue to evolve the platform to take advantage of the latest technologies
Qualifications
Critical Skills:
- Expert Python developer
- Experience scaling high-volume, database-driven web services
- Understanding of MySQL and relational database fundamentals
- Experience optimizing and performance tuning server applications
- Experience with unit, integration and regression testing of web services
- Ability to analyze and assess the security of server application
- Knowledge of distributed systems
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with dynamic or functional programming languages
- Eager to work with a host of new techonologies, such as Hadoop, Redis, MongoDB, and Node.js
- Ability to take a project from concept to implementation
- Effectively manage several projects at a time
- Take both initiative and direction
- Attention to detail and passion for product quality
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Level of Experience:
- 2+ years of server-side development experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent
