Do I have to pay for the content?
No, the content is absolutely free. However, data charges may apply – check with your network operator.

I have a corporate device using a BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES). Can I use the application?
Yes. If you have any issues with downloading or launching the application, please contact your BlackBerry administrator. Your corporate IT policy might be restricting access to third party applications.

How do I download the application?
Please ensure you have internet access on your BlackBerry and then follow the steps below:
  1. Visit http://polarmobile.com on your BlackBerry browser.
  2. Click on the link “Download Now
  3. On the download screen, click on Download. Enter your device password if prompted – this is a BlackBerry security setting. Once installation is complete, a notification message will appear.


How do I activate the application?
Click on the application icon from the home screen on your BlackBerry.

The first time you launch the application, an activation screen will appear. Please choose your email address from the dropdown field. Follow the prompts to download the latest issue (allow the application to access the internet if requested).

If you cannot activate, exit the application and retry. If activation problems still persist, re-install the application.


How do I uninstall the application?
On your BlackBerry, follow the steps below:
  1. Open Options -> Advanced Options -> Applications.
  2. Select the application and choose delete from the menu.
  3. Reboot your BlackBerry if prompted.


How do I receive new content?
New content is automatically downloaded to your device. After new content has been downloaded, a star appears on the application icon.

When you launch the application after new content has been downloaded, you may be taken to the ‘Issues’ page.


How do I send this application to a friend?
In the application, open the menu and click on Options. Click on the button “Invite a Friend” and select a contact from the Address Book (or enter a ‘one time email’).

How can I turn off automatic downloads?
From the application home screen, open the BlackBerry menu and click on Extras. Under Settings, uncheck the ‘Download New Issues Automatically’ box.

How do I manually download new content?
To manually download content, go to the Past Issues page from the BlackBerry menu on the application home screen, and click on ‘Check for New Issues’ from the menu. Please ensure you are in network coverage.

Do I have to be in network coverage to read content?
No. Content is stored locally on your device.

How can I learn more about the features of the application?
Open the BlackBerry menu from the application home screen and click on ‘Help’. This section explains the various features including navigation, bookmarks and past issues.
